

With extreme pride he acknowledges the 38 players who played and graduated from four year colleges and universities. His Delhaas teams were qualifiers for the District One Tournament in 19 and received the District One Sportsmanship Award in 1976,79,80,83 and 84. George Collins was recognized by the Bucks County Courier Times as the Boys Soccer Coach of the Year in 1975, the year the Delhaas Tigers won the Lower Bucks County League Championship under his direction. A Masters Degree was earned from Trenton State College in 1976 in Applied Sciences of Health and Physical Education. George graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. Following high school graduation, he matriculated to West Chester State College where he continued his soccer career playing for the Golden Rams. Coach Collins was also the Athletic Trainer for the Delhaas Tigers from 1972-1980.Ī graduate of George Washington HS in Philadelphia where he played soccer and baseball, George was an All Public and All Scholastic Soccer First Team member his senior year. He started the Truman Girls Soccer Program in 1983 and was the head coach for 8 years.

He was head coach of boy’s soccer for 20 years at Delhaas and Truman where he recorded 165 career wins. He began coaching soccer, baseball and basketball at FDR. Throughout his entire career, George was always involved with athletics. George officially retired from the school district after 41 years of dedicated service in August 2011. Chairman at FDR and Truman HS, Aquatics Coordinator at Truman for 16 years, Faculty Manager of Athletics at FDR and Truman, and District Athletic Director from 2005 to 2011. During his career he held many positions within the school district, including thirty-four years as a Health and Physical Education teacher, 12 years as Dept. His first teaching assignment was at FDR teaching Health and Physical Education. George Collins began his distinguished career in the Bristol Township School District in January of 1971. 1 at the Regency Room, Swain and Mifflin Streets in Bristol Borough. A dinner was held commemorating the event Oct. Over the course of the last 40 years, Collins served the district in many capacities before retiring last spring.
